Lakemart
Lakemart owned by Shell Ghana, opens up its doors to improve the grocery shopping experience in and around Accra.
Quality Goodness!
Project scope:
Brand Identity
Naming + Strategy
Merchandize + Physical branding
Lakemart sought to establish itself as a fresh and family-friendly grocery brand from the ground up. As a new entrant in the market, they needed a comprehensive strategy that would define their positioning, build brand recognition, and create an inviting customer experience across digital and physical touchpoints.
With no pre-existing identity, the challenge was to develop everything from the brand’s name to its visual identity and in-store experience. The goal was to ensure the brand felt approachable, vibrant, and aligned with customers’ values.
Our Approach
We tied the branding to the location’s key feature—the lake:
Naming & Strategy
The name Lakemart was inspired from the location's defining feature and create a sense of belonging.
Built a strategy around the tagline “Quality Goodness” to emphasize fresh, wholesome products with great shopping experience.
Brand Identity Design
Integrated organic movement inspired by water and nature in the entire visual design.
Used natural tones as the brand's primary colors, reflecting the lake and lush surroundings.
Physical Branding
Designed storefront signage and in-store elements that reflected the area’s natural beauty.
Created branded merchandise with subtle lake-inspired motifs to reinforce the heritage tie.
Marketing Collateral
Developed digital and print campaigns that highlighted the store’s connection to the community and its promise of quality.
Results
Lakemart became more than a grocery store—it established itself as a symbol of local pride, rooted in heritage and offering quality items.
